Tell Me.

Sun Nov 8, 2009, 7:08 AM
Are wishes just prayers or are prayers just wishes?

I have so many words trying to escape me at once that they get stuck in my throat. There are times when I can't speak, and I wish there was somebody who could read it in my face, grab me, shake me, hit me until the words of every poem, the song of every bird, the tears of every storm flowed from me like rain.

And Yet I Guess, It Makes Me Smile.

Boobs.
I'm tired of them. I don't want boobs anymore.
They are a nuisance and boring and get in the way of my genderbending ways. Also, I feel fat. Fffffff. Very, very, very out of tune with my body right now. We aren't getting along as of late.

To prove that, I'm sick. No fun.
But at least Max and I are sick together. I'm thinking it's my fault, or Farrah's. She's always got a runny nose taking a jog down her face.
Nonetheless, as long as I keep water in my viens and take a nap and keep my body moving, I should be fine.

This past weekend was wonderful. Lots of bike riding and singing loudly and adventuring and laughter. Especially laughter.
Saturday, MaxMan and I went to Taco Bell for the first time on about one hundred years, but it was well worth it. I ordered my food all by myself for once, and I'm damn proud. We hung out at the school on a concrete platform, looking very punk and grungey and styley what with our flannel, his ripped jeans, my combat boots and green knee-length knickers. On Sunday, we rode bikes from 1-5pm, stopping to explore a cemetary, an abandoned house and a nature path (which turned out to actually be quite lame, but nifty regardless.) We stopped at a Nice & Easy for food and then slipped onto our bike seats to return home. We didn't even know where we were, and that feeling of unknowing was borderline magic. It's something I'd like to do again.

Also, I need to get myself some super styley sunglasses.
And more flannel overshirts.
And I'm a babe in combat boots.
And Max is breathtaking in green flannel.
We're so 70's I can't even stand it.

Right now, I've gotta switch laundry and take a nap.
Get myself to do some dancing or something.
Oh, and my computer is fried. It won't turn on, so I most likely will not be submitting any artwork for a billion years.
And, I haven't been artong much lately anyways.

Anywho.
Talk at you later.

My Sin's My Own.

So, I just downloaded Google Chrome, and for the third time in my live I've been impressed by something on the Internet. Stunning.
It's got my approval for sure.

Well, the summer is vanishing like a perfect sunset behind the horizon, which saddens me, but at the same time brings me hope that one often receives upon the start of a new beginning. I'm preparing to tackle the next school year with a new sense of self, confidence and as much optimism as I can gather. I have a feeling this year will be a lot better than last, despite the lack of seeing MaxMan when I'm so used to seeing him for a week at a time, despite the fact that I have to take two gym classes, despite taking a class that I didn't really want to take (but it should be easy enough.) I have faith.

Also, for anyone who is interested:
Lets Do It- Joan Jett
Gloria- Patti Smith
Dancing Barefoot- Patti Smith
Still Rock and Roll to Me- Billy Joel
Cherry Bomb- Joan Jett
Androgynous- Joan Jett
Only the Good Die Young- Billy Joel
Crimson and Clover- Joan Jett
Believe- Cher
Love is All Around- Joan Jett
Don't Worry, Be Happy- Bob Marley
Smells Like Teen Spirit- Patti Smith

Peek-A-Boo.

I want combat boots and Levi jeans.
And I want to take a nap.
And I want to go to Funky Town.
And I wish Max was here.

The world's got my head spinning
and I've been thinking-
I want to be
a singer and a
spoken word artist.
I want to sell my work
on street corners, and tell people
that yes, I do see the world like this.
I want to scrawl poetry on the sides
of tables and on napkins tucked
into library books.
I want to fall asleep on picnic tables
with his arms around me
and his heart as my tick-tock clock.

I want too much.

Slightly More Relevant . Sort Of.

Artist Baton

◆ Your name?
Crystalline, Crystal, Crys, Snail, Snailor, Snaillians.

◆ If possible, your age?
Sixteen.

◆ When did you start drawing?
When I was a youngin'. But I didn't get 'serious' about being an artiste until the end of my 6th grade career. I don't know how I reached such an epiphany at such a time, but I did, and TA-DA.

◆ Which hand do you use for drawing?
Right.

◆ Which is easier to draw - male or female?
Well, I normally draw girls, and occasionally a lad or two, but mostly I try to keep things generally androgynous. And, since I draw ladies most of the time, I guess that's easier.

◆ Which is easier to draw - long hair or short hair?
Short. I feel that generally, my drawings with short hair look the best. Long hair is cool, but it doesn't really give off the right vibe sometimes.

◆ Is it easier to draw the head facing towards the right or the left?
Facing the left. Right is hard for me.

◆ Is it easier to draw the side view of the face or the front view?
It depends on the drawing. Sometimes a profile would turn out horrible even though it's easier, but the front view would be perfect. So it's hard to say.

◆ What do you have problems in drawing?
Facial expressions and anatomically correct bodies.
That's why I always draw poor, lonely, disembodied heads.

◆ What do you like to draw?
People. Always people.

◆ Are you a traditional artist or a digital artist?
Traditional.

◆ Where do you start drawing from?
An idea or a sketch. Or both.

◆ What is your drawing habit that you are aware of?
I get absorbed. I have a hard time talking when hardcore focused on a doodle.

◆ Any tips for coloring/shading?
Layers are key. Layers layers layers.
Never ever use just one shade of a color.
If you are coloring something blue, add some green or some purple, depending on the effect desired for that drawing.

◆ How long does it take to finish a piece of art?
It varies by motivation, size of drawing, etc.

◆ What music do you listen to while you draw?
Just the stuff on my MP3 player or projectplaylist.

◆ How long does it take you to come up with an idea?
That varies as well. Sometimes one will slither right into my brain, other times I have to catch it myself with a net.

◆ Your favorite drawing utensils?
Pens, colored pencils, markers and watercolors. Watercolors I use rarely, but when I do, I almost always like the effect.

◆ Your favorite color/the color that you use a lot?
I have a tendency to use a lot of reds, yellows, oranges and browns. Fall shades. Either that, or blues and greens and purples and the like. Depending on the drawing.

◆ Your favorite style(s)?
Anything original. Anything new. Anything different.

◆ What kind of artist are you aiming for?
The awesome kind.

◆ Thank you.
